Steel SAF-690 (Severstal-690)
Designation
Description
Steel SAF-690 applies: for the production of sheet products with thickness from 6.0 to 50.0 mm, intended for the manufacture of platforms and other welded load-bearing sites of heavy trucks BelAZ.
Note
High-strength, cold-resistant low-carbon weldable steel.
Standards
Chemical composition
Fe is the basis.
According to TU 14-105-874-09 the chemical composition is given for steel grade CBC-690 (Severstal-690). The content of the elements must be within or not more than indicated in the table. Provided that the mechanical properties of sheet metal are ensured, deviations in the content of elements in finished rolled products from the norms of chemical composition in accordance with GOST 19281 are allowed. The carbon equivalent should be no more than 0.55. The carbon equivalent of each melting is determined by the formula: C ECB = C + Mn / 6 + (Cr + Mo + V) / 5 + (Ni + Cu) / 15, where C, Mn, Cr, V, Mo, Ni, Cu - the content of the corresponding elements in the metal of this melting in the course of a smelting analysis or the analysis of finished rolled products.
