Production and application

Grade 08Cr18H10T (EI914) is produced according to the following GOST: 5632-72, 18 907-73, 4405-75, 5582-75, 5949-75; 25 054-81; 9940-81.This steel is a chromium-nickel alloy of the austenitic class. It is melted in electric arc furnaces. It has enhanced resistance to intergranular corrosion in industrial environments, compared to alloys 12X18H10T and 12X18H12T. It is used in the manufacture of welded structures working in highly aggressive environments at t° from -196 to +600 ° C without limiting the pressure.

Corrosion resistance

According to GOST 5582-72, 7350-77 and 4986-79 such steel when tested by the methods of AMU and AM GOST 6032-89 resists intergranular corrosion in control solutions at exposure time of 8 and 24 hours respectively. These tests are carried out after annealing (1 hour) at t° 650 °C.

Process parameters

Steel 08Х18Н10Т on technological parameters is similar to brands 12Х18Н9Т (10Т). It differs from them by the best resistance of welds to intergranular and knife corrosion in the conditions of chemical production.
