Relevance

Nimonik is a nickel-based heat resistant alloy. Depending on its purpose, it may contain gadolinium, samarium, chromium, titanium, aluminum or other metals. Nimonik serves as the basis for parts of heat-resistant structures operating at temperatures of up to 1,000 degrees Celsius. The alloy lends itself satisfactorily to hot work by pressure. It has a melting point of 1310-1390 degrees Celsius. Nimonik 90 is used for working blades of aircraft gas turbine engines. Resists oxidation and scale formation well throughout its service life. Nimonik 80a is used for gas turbine components. It has high corrosion resistance and heat resistance.
