General characteristics

Alloyed brass L90 refers to double deformed brass, as follows from the marking, has a very high percentage of copper in the alloy, about 90%. In a number of pressure treated alloys is characterized by good resistance to corrosion. It is widely used in the production of semi-finished products such as pipes, sheets, bands, strips used in instrumentation, electrical engineering, as well as for forging, enameling and embossing of medals, badges, etc .

Production

The chemical composition of L90 grade is regulated by GOST 15 627-2004. Alloy consists of following components: main part is copper 88 - 91%, zinc is 8 - 12%. The alloying additives are listed in descending order. Iron - 0.1%, lead - up to 0.03%, phosphorus - 0.01, antimony - up to 0.005%, bismuth - 0.002%, impurities - no more than 0.2%. The alloy melts at t° 1045 ° C, processed at t° 700 - 850 ° C, the annealing temperature is 450 - 600 ° C.
