Permendur 49 and Hiperco 50A are names encountered in high-induction magnetic designs. They must not be assumed interchangeable: provide the exact manufacturer grade or governing standard, required product form and magnetic acceptance values. Heat treatment and processing condition matter to the final properties.

Specification and quality notes
The old composition table placed a cobalt-range value under a chromium heading and could mislead buyers. It has been removed. Chemistry and magnetic performance must be verified using the quoted material certificate and applicable specification.
