Production and application
Heat-resistant, heat-resistant corrosion-resistant grade 08Cr18H12B is a chromium-nickel alloy of the austenitic class. Production is regulated by the following GOST: 5632-72; 5949-75; 5582-75; 7350-77; 9940-81; 9941-81. Welded equipment for work in nitric acid is made of such steel. This steel is more resistant to knife corrosion compared to alloys 12X18H9T and 12X18HYUT alloyed with titanium.

Corrosion resistance
Steel 08Х18Н12Б is resistant to oxidation in the air up to 900 °C, as well as to knife corrosion in welded joints and to intercrystalline corrosion. The tests are conducted by the methods: AM and AMU
Process parameters
The ingots are rolled at 1200-900°C. For ingots with high Nb content, it is necessary to reduce the t° of the beginning of deformation to 1150°C. The hot deformation is carried out at 1160-900°C. The steel has good processability during cold deformation in the quenched state.
Welding
For RDS the electrodes CL-11 with a wire Sv-07Cr19N10B and electrodes OZL-7 with a wire Sv-01 (02) Cr19N9 are used. These electrodes give high resistance of welds to intergranular and general corrosion. For welding equipment operating at temperatures up to 750 ° C, such as petrochemical industry, use L-39 electrodes with wires Sv-04Cr19N9 and Sv-06Cr19N9T. If resistance in aggressive medium is necessary at t° up to 600 °C, electrodes L-40M with wire Св-02 (04) Х19Н9 are used.
