VT14 titanium alloy purchasing requirements
VT14 is a legacy heat-treatable alpha-beta titanium-alloy designation used in annealed and strengthened conditions. Its composition and properties must be evaluated against the specified standard and product form. VT14 must not be treated as an automatic equivalent to another titanium grade without comparing chemistry, heat treatment, section size and required mechanical properties.
Tube, bar, sheet and forging details
For tube, state outside diameter, wall thickness, length, construction, end finish and tolerance. For bar or sheet, provide diameter or thickness, width, length, surface and condition. For forgings, add the drawing, machining allowance and reduction requirements. Include heat treatment, tensile, impact, ultrasonic or other inspection, quantity, marking and certificate type. For elevated-temperature or welded service, provide the component specification and operating conditions.
