Such steel used in the manufacture of welded equipment for the synthesis of caprolactam, urea, wet-process phosphoric acid and complex fertilizers, for equipment that operates in sulfate, nitrate and phosphate environments and in environments rich in chlorides and hydrogen sulfide. This steel is very durable, it can be used in conditions of corrosion and erosion wear. Operating temperature range is -40 to 300 °C.

Resistance to corrosion
According to the 14−1-3467−82 and 14−1-3880−84, this steel resistant to intergranular corrosion when tested according to the method of WU GOST 6032−89. These tests are carried out after provoking heating to 550 °C for one hour. During the test according to the method of DU GOST 6032−89 in the hardened state indicator of the corrosion rate in each of the 5 cycles should not exceed 0.5 mm/year. The corrosion rate of the base metal and welds (made using manual arc welding) in 32% of wet-process phosphoric acid at 90 °C for 100−500 hours does not exceed 0.1 g/(m2h). 10−35% H2SO4 at t º to 90 °C the corrosion rate to 0,1 mm/year. In solution 10−90% H2SO4 at t º 20 to 90 °C. This steel is its corrosion resistance is not inferior to the alloy 06HN28MDT (ЭИ943).
Steel 03Х24Н6АМЗ high pitting index (PI = 24%SG + 6% Ni + 3,3% Mo), more than 33, which guarantees the resistance to pitting corrosion in chloride environments. When tested in production conditions of wet-process phosphoric acid (42% P2O5 + 1.5−2 g/l F + 10−18 g/l H2SO4) at 90 °C up to 4000 hours — total rate of corrosion of hardened base metal, welds after provoking vacation (5 hours at 500−650°C) less than 0.1 mm/year. Intergranular corrosion is missing.
Main technological parameters
Hot deformation is carried out at t° 1200−900°C. the Punching conducted in cold and hot conditions, in the range of 1100−900°C. In a cold condition, the minimum bending radius of the parts is greater than the sheet thickness by only 20%; and in the hot state, when heated to 850−950°C, the bending radius may be equal to the thickness.
Welding
This steel is well welded by manual TIG and arc welding. Strength of welds compared with the base metal according to the standard OST 26−291−79; is 0,85−0,9. At t=800°C the same ratio is equal to 1, that allows to stamp the welded component. Static bending of welded joints made by manual arc up to 130°, and manual argon-arc welding up to 140°, at a rate of 100°.
