Nickel powder grade and particle requirements
Nickel powder selection depends on chemistry, production route, particle-size distribution, morphology, apparent density, surface condition and application. A grade name or nominal particle size alone is not a complete specification. Electrolytic, atomized and other powder routes can behave differently during pressing, sintering, coating, brazing or additive processing.
Data required for a powder quotation
State the accepted grade and standard, minimum nickel content, impurity limits, particle-size distribution and the measurement method. Include morphology, apparent or tap density, flow, oxygen or moisture limit, surface treatment, lot size, sampling and certificate requirements. Provide package size, container and atmosphere requirements, total quantity and any restricted-substance or transport documentation. If the powder is intended for a qualified process, add the equipment, process window and purchaser acceptance criteria.
