Brass strip for stamping and forming
Strip is ordered by alloy and narrow-width geometry, not by the word tape alone. Specify the UNS designation, thickness, width, tolerance, edge condition, temper, surface finish and coil or cut-length format. A stamping strip, decorative strip and electrical-contact strip may require different conditions and tests even if their dimensions are similar.
Specification and documentation
ASTM B36/B36M applies to specified brass plate, sheet, strip and rolled-bar alloys such as C26000. It does not establish suitability for every brass grade. Provide the applicable edition or drawing, mechanical or grain-size requirements if relevant, and the certificate or traceability requested.
