Aluminum profiles, as a rule, are made by hot pressing method according to GOST 22 233-93, 22 233-2001 and GOST 8617-81 from aluminum or its alloys: D16, AD31T1, D31, AD31T5, etc. Aluminum profile surface may be coated with polymer paint or anodized. Dimensions and forms of aluminum profiles comply with GOST 13 617, 13 616, 13 618, 13 619, 13620, 13 621, 13 622, 13 623, 13 624, 13 737, 13 738, 17 575, 17 576 and in accordance with drawings of the manufacturing plant. Profiles are manufactured cut at right angles. Length of aluminum profile is 2 - 6 m (GOST 22 233-93) or 1 - 10 m (GOST 8617-81).

Classification of aluminum profiles

Profile anodized aluminum

The surface of any aluminum profile has a film, which is formed as a result of the reaction of oxygen with aluminum and prevents further oxidation of the material. But, this layer is very thin and not resistant to various mechanical damages. To get a stronger protective coating, the methods of artificial anodizing of alloys are used. For example, the part is dipped into an acidic electrolyte (_{H2 CrO4}, _{H2 SO4}) and connected to the positive pole of the current source. The released oxygen begins to interact with aluminum and forms an oxide film on the surface of the anodized profile. The thickness of the resulting coating depends on the purpose and can be any. For example, for anodized aluminum, used indoors, the figure is 15 microns, profiles that are exposed to adverse climatic conditions - 20 microns. Anodized aluminum profile is reliably protected from corrosion, has no defects in the pressing, is more durable in use and has a uniform matte surface.

It is also worth noting the process of decorative anodizing, which allows you to give anodized aluminum profile, in addition to protective properties, and the necessary shade: "pearl", "gold" etc. This material is used for the manufacture and finishing of parts with high demands on appearance.
