Composition and properties
Stainless steel AISI 414 (1.4008) is a high-alloy iron-based alloy, high corrosion resistance, especially high temperature. Chemical composition of steel, the following:
Chemical element | Carbon | Silicon | Manganese | Chrome | Nickel | Iron |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
The content in steel,% | To 0.15 | To 1.0 | To 1.0 | 12…13 | 1,8…1,9 | The rest |
The usual impurities formed in the steelmaking process are sulfur (0.03%) and phosphorus (0.04%).
The closest domestic analogue of this material is stainless steel grade 15X13H2. Its production is carried out according to the technical requirements of GOST 5632. 15X13H2 steel has a chemical composition:
Chemical element | Carbon | Silicon | Manganese | Chrome | Nickel | Iron |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
The content in steel,% | To 0.15 | To 0.8 | To 1.5 | 12…14 | 1,6…2,0 | The rest |
In Europe, the steel with such a composition is not melted.
The crystalline structure of the steel after quenching for the normal modes is characterized by the simultaneous presence of austenite, martensite and ferrite and therefore the material can be attributed to age-hardening steels. Physico-mechanical characteristics of steel are within the following limits:
- Tensile strength, MPa — 1795;
- The plastic limit, MPa — 1013;
- Elastic modulus, GPA — 200;
- Elongation (for samples with a diameter up to 50 mm), % — 15;
- Impact strength (after quenching and tempering), kJ/m3 — 70…80;
- Brinell hardness number — no more than 450…460 NV.
Application
Bulk rental of corrosion-resistant stainless steel AISI 414 (1.4008) can be used to produce preforms for subsequent die forging critical parts of turbines and other power plants, which are operated at elevated pressures and sliding velocities. Resistance to processes of corrosion-mechanical wear is maintained until the temperature of 600…6500 C.
Due to the significant initial hardness directly plastic processing of sheet and bulk metal steel AISI 414 (1.4008) impractical. Cold this material is partially amenable to separation operations sheet metal forming, so it is possible to manufacture flat parts of measuring equipment that operates in corrosive environments and at elevated temperatures. Due to good performance of thermal conductivity of parts made from this steel, the operation does not lose its size and shape, and therefore are used when increased requirements to accuracy of products.
The company Electrocentury-steel offers to buy plates and bars stainless steel AISI 414 (1.4008) in a wide range, and at competitive prices from the manufacturer. Each batch is accompanied by certificate of quality.
