2024 aluminum is a high-strength aluminum-copper alloy commonly identified in European systems as 3.1355 or AlCuMg2. The required specification and temper control the properties, so the designation alone is not a complete order description.
Technical characteristic
Grade: wrought aluminum alloy, Characterized by high magnesium content up to 2.5%. The aluminum content is 91 to 95%. Hardness HB 10 -1 = 105 MPa. Alloy annealed HB 10 -1 = 42 MPa. The alloy is available in the form of sections and sheets, forging material, tubes.
