Inconel 792 Alloy Bar, Wire and Tube
Technical feature
Excellent combination of tensile strength and corrosion resistance. Alloy retains exceptional mechanical properties up to 1800° F (982° C). Resistance to oxidation up to 2000° F (1093° C) exceeds that of special superalloys. Improved sulfidation resistance up to 1800° F (982° C). Resistant to hydrogen sulfide and sulfur dioxide up to 1800° F (982° C).
Use
Production of rotors, sealing elements, turbine blades, heat-resistant pipes, jet nozzle parts. Prices may vary depending on the complexity of the parts.
Machining
Punching tendencies. Deep but slow cutting with carbide-based tools is used.
Welding
Does not weld well due to cracking and microstructural separation of alloying elements.
