Heat-resistant alloy KhN55VMTKYu (EI929, EI929-VD, KhN55VMTKYu-VD) is used in the manufacture of turbine blades, gas turbine engine parts. It is designed for a limited service life at temperatures up to 950 °C. The beginning of intensive scale formation occurs at 1050 °C. Hardness of the alloy KhN55VMTKYu at the end of hardening and aging: HB 10-1 = 285 - 341 MPa. The rod is produced according to GOST 23 705-79.

The main requirements to the material for the turbine blades are caused by the latest developments of the engine design, increased ductility, heat resistance, resistance to low-cycle and thermal fatigue as well as resistance to the effects of gas media. In modern engines, the material for turbine parts must have high resistance to low-cycle and thermal fatigue failure, which is the main cause of failure today. The danger of fracture can be exacerbated by surface reactions that are associated with grain boundary loosening, gas corrosion.
