General characteristics
Almost all types of expansion joints are manufactured with welding fittings, except for rubber expansion joints. Depending on the type of sealing fitting, the material used for welding fittings can be stainless steel, galvanized steel, steel st.20 or any alloy steel as required by the customer. Axial compensator of CSR type is designed for compensation of thermal expansion in straight sections of pipelines as well as for inaccuracies in their installation.
Axial expansion joints are characterized by
- nominal inner passage diameter;
- value of working target stroke (angular degrees, millimeters);
- maximum permissible pressure (bars, atmospheres, pascals);
- operating temperature taken into account in calculating the values of working stroke;
- material (structural steel, stainless steel, alloyed steel) and type of connecting fittings (flanged, threaded, welded);

Operating conditions for axial bellows compensators CSR
First of all, the operating characteristics must be determined by the target tasks that the axial bellows compensator must perform. During operation, it must:
- withstand the working maximum as well as the test pressure to which the pipeline is subjected;
- not to reduce the flow capacity of the pipeline;
- easily mounted and repaired;
- do not decrease under the influence of mechanical vibrations and temperatures the values of the target parameters below the allowable limit.
All specifications of axial expansion joints are given for temperature of200 C, as well as for thousands of full cycles of compression - tension.
- medium pressure: not more than 125 kg/cm2.
- working medium: steam, water, oil products, gases, etc.
- operating temperature range: -260 +800 C°.
The required value of working stroke is carried out by the number of bellows corrugations.
Axial flanged compensator (with blind / floating flange)
Axial flange compensator with floating flange greatly facilitates installation, because the flanges can be easily and freely turned to adjust the bolts to the holes, as well as during the replacement of equipment. The axial flange compensator with a blind flange makes it possible to achieve a tighter connection by welding to the bellows.
Axial compensator under attachment type CSR
- execution type: with protective shell and inner shield;
- number of sections: two or one section (one or two bellows);
- bellows material: stainless steel of 12Х18Н10Т, 08Х18Н10Т grades;
- shield, casing: steel St.20 or stainless steel 12Х18Н10Т, 08Х18Н10Т;
- socket for welding and flange: stainless steel 12Х18Н10Т, 08Х18Н10Т or steel St. 20;
- nominal diameter: 15 - 10 000 mm;
- Connection type: welded, threaded, flanged.
