Alloy KhN40MDB-VI (EP937-VI)

CrN40MDB-VI nickel-iron steel is melted in induction vacuum furnaces. It is used as a wrought non-magnetic material for welded chemical equipment operating in aggressive oxidizing or reducing atmospheres in the technological synthesis lines of acetic, formic. sulfuric nitric. acid, extractive phosphoric acid and similar acids. Used in sulphuric acid environments hydrometallurgical industries containing chlorine ions and hydrogen sulphide. The following TU are provided for the alloy KhN40MDB-VI: 14−1-2131−77; 14−1-2149−77; 14−1-2121−77.

Alloy corrosion resistance

Grade CrN40MDB-VI according to TU 14−1-2131−77 has resistance to intergranular corrosion by the method of VU GOST 6O32−89. Before the test the sample is heated up to 700 °C (20 minutes). When tested by the method AM, AMU (GOST 6032−89) alloy demonstrates resistance to intergranular corrosion after heating to 550−950 ° C 95 hours, as well as the method of VU GOST 6032−89 after heating for two hours at t ° 800 ° C. The alloy is not prone to corrosion cracking in boiling solutions of 42% MgCl or 50% H2 SO4. The alloy is resistant to pitting and pitting in FeCl solution, in extraction H3 PO4, concentrated H2 SO4 production environments, and in hydrometallurgical production environments.

Processing

The alloy is easily machined hot and cold, and is also satisfactorily cut. Hot deformation is performed in the thermal range of 1180−900°C. The alloy is welded by argon-arc method using filler wire KhN40MDB-VI or by manual arc welding with Sv-KhN40MDB-VI rod. CrN40MDB-VI with alloys CrN65MV and 06CrN28MdT (EI943) is subject to composite welding.
