Titanium powder specification

Titanium powder performance depends on chemistry, production route, particle-size distribution, morphology, oxygen, nitrogen, hydrogen and moisture limits, surface condition and handling history. A grade name or nominal mesh size alone is not a complete purchasing specification. Powders intended for pressing, sintering, coating, pyrotechnic, filtration or additive processes may require different flow, density, cleanliness and safety controls.

Data required for a powder quotation

State the accepted grade and standard, minimum titanium content, impurity and interstitial limits, particle-size distribution and test method. Include morphology, apparent or tap density, flow, oxygen and moisture limits, lot size, sampling plan and certificate requirements.
