The production and use of
Brand 03Н18К8М5Т-VD smelted in an open induction furnace using a vacuum-arc remelting, according to the 14−1-3140−81; 14−1-4479−88. Used for loaded parts, axles, fasteners, fittings, pressure vessels. Due to the alloying elements, the surface of the material when in contact with atmospheric air is covered by a solid film of oxide nature, which protects the product from harmful influence of aggressive environment. Nickel gives the composition ductility, molybdenum and cobalt — resistance, additives of silicon and manganese improve the workability of the material.
