Technical characteristics

Stainless low carbon chrome-nickel steel. Specific gravity 7.8 g/cm3. The base of the alloy is iron (Fe about 75%). The alloy is additionally alloyed with molybdenum, manganese, silicon, aluminum, combines high strength, corrosion resistance, good impact toughness, spring properties.

Chromium gives the alloy hardness and corrosion resistance. Nickel increases ductility. Molybdenum resists oxidation at high temperature, increases impact strength and wear resistance.

Cold working

Turning, milling, grinding, drilling.

Heat Treatment

Normalization, hardening, annealing, tempering. There are three basic stages of heat treatment: 1) austenite conditioning, 2) cooling - conversion of austenite to martensite and 3) precipitation.

Application

Production of parts working at elevated temperatures in an aggressive environment. Rings, springs, diaphragms, nozzles and other aircraft components.
