Description

The Amg3 alloy used: for the manufacture of flat ingots, cast by semi-continuous method or continuous casting, and is intended for rolling into sheets, strips and other semi-finished products (strips, plates, profiles, panels, pipes, wire, welding wire Svamg3, stampings and forgings) by hot or cold deformation; details of the internal planes of welded tanks and fuel tanks; round, rolled and drawn pipes for pipes transmission shafts and rods control airplanes; large extruded pipes.

Al is the base.
According to GOST 4784-97, the mass fraction of each other impurity (not regulated) ≤ 0.05%, the total mass fraction of other impurities ≤ 0.10%.
For the production of welding wire SvMg3 alloy should have the following chemical composition: Al - base, Si = 0.50-0.80%, Mg = 3.20-3.80%, Mn = 0.30-0.60%, Cu ≤ 0.050%, Fe ≤ 0.50%, Zn ≤ 0.20%, the mass fraction of each other impurity (not regulated) ≤ 0.1%, the total mass fraction of all impurities ≤ 0.85%. In the alloy SvAMg3, the mass fraction of titanium is allowed up to 0.15%. The ratio of iron and silicon in the SvMg3 alloy should not be more than unity.
The closest foreign analogue of the AMg3 alloy to ISO 209-1 is the AlMg3 (5754) alloy with the chemical composition: Si ≤ 0.40%, Fe≤0.40%, Cu≤0.10%, Mn≤ 0.50%, Mg = 2,60-3,60%, Cr ≤ 0,30%, Zn ≤ 0,20%, Ti ≤ 0,15%, Mn + Cr = 0,10-0,60%, mass fraction of each other (not regulated ) impurities ≤ 0.05%, total mass fraction of other impurities ≤ 0.15%.

Technological properties

Weldability The alloy is well welded all types of welding - TIG, contact, spot, and seam welding. Weld joint efficiency is 0.9-0.95 % of the strength of the basic material.
Pressure treatment Well-deformed in hot and cold condition.
Features of heat treatment Not heat-treatable alloy.
Corrosion resistance Alloy with excellent General corrosion resistance, not cloned to stress corrosion cracking and intergranular corrosion (especially in the annealed condition). For additional protection parts against corrosion is anodizing or applied coatings. The corrosion resistance of the alloy (and the weld) high, is almost the same as that of pure aluminum.
Machinability Machinability is satisfactory.
