Astm B730. Standard specifications for welded nickel (UNS N02200 / UNS N02201) and copper-nickel alloy (UNS N04400) tubes

Relevance

The Astm B730 specification describes the general requirements for welded tubes made of alloys: nickel (UNS N02200), low-carbon nickel (UNS N02201), and monel-copper alloy (N04400).

Processing

According to Astm B730, pipes are welded and fired or quenched and tempered prior to use. They are produced by welding without the addition of filler material. Afterwards, they undergo a cold finish treatment to give them optimum corrosion resistance in the welded seam area and the main body of the pipe.

Standardization

The values specified by Astm B730 in units of inch-pound are to be considered standard. Metric values, are mathematical conversions to SI units, which are provided for information only and are not considered standard.

Safety Data Sheet

Astm B730 does not regulate safety measures concerning the operation of finished products. This is defined in the appropriate Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for the product/material as provided by the manufacturer.

Use

Heat exchange circuits, thermostats, heating systems.
