Ni200 alloy is characterized by excellent mechanical properties, which do not decrease under sub-zero and high temperature conditions, as well as resistance to corrosion formation in various aggressive environments (including alkaline and weakly acidic, halogen and organic compounds). It has good thermal, electrical and magnetostrictive properties.

Use is limited to temperatures not exceeding 600°F. At higher temperature ranges, products are damaged by graphitization. Specific heat capacity peaks at 358°C (676°F).
Corrosion resistance
Corrosion resistance is particularly good under reducing conditions; even if a passivating oxide layer is formed, also in oxidizing environments. Nickel 99.2 resistance to mineral acids varies depending on temperature and concentration and whether the solution is exposed to air or not. Corrosion resistance is better in acids without exposure to air.
