Steel 34ХН3МА (0ХН3М)
Designation
Description
34ХН3МА steel is used: for the manufacture of forgings of various parts of General engineering; of forgings of shafts of compressors and gas turbines; forged billets for rotors of troubleproof; solid-rolled rings, shafts, rotors, workpieces disks of steam turbines with operating temperatures up to +350 °C; the shaft-gears, couplings, gear wheels and other critical heavily loaded parts operating at temperatures up to +500 °C; billet shafts and solid-forged rotors of stationary and transport steam turbines.
Note
Structural steel high-quality romancelatina.
Standards
Chemical composition
Fe is the basis.
According to 108.11.917-87 and TU NZL 342-89 the chemical composition is given for steel grade 34HN3MA.
According to TU 108.11.917-87, the total content of sulfur and phosphorus in steel should be ≤ 0.045%.
According to TU 108-1028-81 and TU 108-1029-81 the chemical composition is given for steel grade 34HN3MA. In the workpieces, deviations in the content of the elements indicated in the table are allowed: carbon ± 0.010%, silicon + 0.030%.
In the manufacture of blanks with discs with hub heights from 450 to 650 mm, the content of phosphorus and sulfur in steel should not be more than 0.018% of each; for metal VDP and ELP, the deviation of manganese content +0.10% / - 0.15% is allowed. In the ESR steel, the sulfur content should not be more than 0.015%. When casting steel without evacuation, for the manufacture of disc blanks with a hub height of more than 300 mm, hydrogen content in the metal must be determined. The results of determination of the hydrogen content are not acceptance-delivery and, at the request of the consumer, are to be entered in the procurement certificate.
According to TU 108.11.889-87, deviations in chemical composition are allowed: by carbon ± 0.010%, by chroma ± 0.050%, by manganese ± 0.020%, by molybdenum ± 0.020%, by vanadium ± 0.020%, by nickel -0.10% , for silicon +0.020%. The total content of sulfur and phosphorus should not be more than 0.036% for smelting by a duplex process and in an electric furnace. The sulfur and phosphorus content after the use of the out-of-furnace refining and evacuation unit (OVPV) should not be more than 0.010% and 0.012%, respectively, for a sum of sulfur and phosphorus not more than 0.020%. The steel shall be melted according to the manufacturer's technical documentation using the UVRB unit. It is allowed to melt steel in an open-hearth furnace by a duplex process or in the main electric arc furnace.
