Alloy АЛ8
Designation
Description
Alloy АЛ8 used: for the manufacture of shaped castings for various purposes; casting parts of valves and actuators to it.
Note
The alloy is resistant. АЛ8 alloy is prone to natural aging, which leads to a significant reduction in elongation.
Standards
Chemical composition
Al is the base.
According to GOST 2685-75, the iron content is specified for casting in sand and shell molds, for melted models, casting into chill molds, and injection molding. The amount of allowable impurities should be for casting in sand and shell molds, for the smelted models, casting in chill molds, and die casting ≤ 1.00%. To increase the mechanical properties by 15-20%, it is necessary to limit the content of iron and silicon impurities in the alloy to 0.030% of each.
