Specify the bronze alloy before the wire size
Bronze is a family of copper alloys, not a single wire grade. Phosphor bronze, silicon bronze, aluminum bronze and beryllium copper can require different chemistry, temper and acceptance tests. State the exact alloy or UNS number, round or flat wire shape, diameter or section and intended application. Spring wire and welding filler should not be treated as interchangeable.
Specification and documentation
For certain phosphor bronze wire grades, ASTM B159/B159M is one possible purchase specification. Other bronze alloys or filler products need their own applicable specification or drawing. Include the edition, temper and documentation you need rather than assuming one bronze-wire standard covers every alloy.
