Features of aluminum bronzes

A peculiarity of aluminum bronzes is that iron significantly increases their mechanical characteristics by refining the grain, which provides delayed recrystallization. To improve the strength properties aluminum-iron bronze is subjected to aging at 250-300 ° C two to three hours after hardening at t° 950 ° C. It is used in the production of worms, gears, bushings, screw nuts, valve seats, usually in the aviation industry.

Nickel contributes to mechanical properties, heat resistance, increases corrosion resistance and recrystallization temperature of aluminum bronzes, low-temperature stability and antifriction properties. Aluminum-iron-nickel bronzes are used for valve guides, bushings, gears and other critical parts, usually in the aviation industry.

Manganese enhances technological and corrosion properties of bronzes. Aluminum-iron-nickel bronzes are perfectly machined under pressure in cold and hot condition. They are used for production of gears, worm screws, bushings, and in marine industry for parts operating at temperatures up to 250°C.
