Bronze strip for stamping and forming orders
Strip differs from broad sheet by the required width, edge and coil or cut-length format. Identify the bronze alloy first, then give thickness, width, tolerances, edge finish, temper and quantity. Spring-contact material, decorative stock and general forming strip may require different tempers and tests even when dimensions are similar.
Specification and documentation
For specified phosphor bronze alloys, ASTM B103/B103M can cover strip. Certain aluminum bronze grades fall under ASTM B169/B169M, while C17200 beryllium copper strip is covered by ASTM B194. Select the standard for the exact alloy and condition rather than treating all bronzes as equivalent.
