Description
Alloy VT5−1 is used: for the manufacture of semi-finished products (sheets, strips, foils, strips, plates, bars, rods, profiles, tubes, forgings and forged blanks) by the method of deformation, and also ingots; shtampovannyh parts and components, operating at temperatures up to +450 °C.
Note
the alloy has good corrosion resistance. Alloy VT5−1 refers to the system Ti-Al-Sn. Tin improves the technological properties of titanium alloys with aluminum, slows down their oxidation, increases the creep resistance. This alloy strength characteristics refers to materials of medium strength.
The alloy less sensitive to notches, has satisfactory fatigue strength, maintains a large heat-resistant up to +450 °C.
Alloy VT5−1 more technologically advanced than VT5, and it is made from all kinds of semi-finished products obtained by pressure treatment, including: sheets, plates, forgings, stamping, profiles, tubes and wire. The alloy is welded by all types of welding and welded joints and base metal are almost equally strong. Alloy is not thermally hardened.
When using this alloy for operation at cryogenic temperatures, the content of impurities should be minimized, as they cause cold brittleness, the composition of the alloy with low content of impurities indicate VT5−1ct.

Ti is the basis.
According to GOST 19807-91 and OST 1 90013-81 the total content of other impurities (except vanadium) ≤ 0.30%. The mass fraction of hydrogen is indicated for ingots. The mass fraction of chromium and manganese should not exceed 0.15% (in total). The mass fraction of copper and nickel should not be more than 0.10% (in total), including nickel not more than 0.08%.
