Designation
Description
Brass l96 is used: for the production of sheets, strips, pipes, wire; parts for various industrial uses method of cold forming, especially by drawing; the parts are manufactured by forging and embossing; round drawn thin-walled tubes; drawn capillary tubes used in propose hypersound or ultras and instrumentation and refrigeration equipment; drawn rectangular tubes, intended for the manufacture of waveguides; oval drawn seamless tubes used in automotive and other industries; cold-drawn tubes for the manufacture of honeycomb radiators; wire for parts for electrical engineering; medals and badges.

Simple (double) brass.
Brass stamps Л98 not prone to stress corrosion cracking; suitable for enameling.

Chemical composition
Cu is the basis.
According to GOST 15527-2004, GOST 617-2006 the sum of other elements should be ≤ 0,20%. In brass, the mass fraction of nickel is allowed up to 0.30% due to the mass fraction of copper, which is not taken into account in the sum of other impurities. For antimagnetic brass, the mass fraction of iron should not exceed 0.030%.
