General provisions

TU 14-ZR-50 -2001 apply to steel seamless hot-rolled thick-walled pipes from cast ingots, designed for the manufacture of motor cases, rollers of roller conveyors and other non-responsible products of similar purpose. Seamless hot-rolled thick-walled steel pipes are supplied in lengths from 4 to 11.9 m. Delivery of up to 20 % shorter pipe lengths is allowed, but not less than 1.5 m. Depending on quality indexes, the tubing shall be manufactured in the following groups:

  • А - with standardized mechanical properties of steel grades St2sp, St4sp, St5sp, Stbsp, 38ХА, 40Х, strength groups C and D;
  • B - with standardization of mechanical properties and chemical composition of steel grades 10, 20, 35, 45 according to GOST 1050; St2sp, St4sp, St5sp, Stbsp (GOST 380) and; 38ХА, 40H (GOST 4543).

In steel with a chemical composition of GOST 1050 allow the residual content of chromium and nickel not more than 0,40% and copper not more than 0,30%, steels with a chemical composition of GOST 380 allow the residual content of chromium and nickel not more than 0,35%.Nickel not more than 0,35% and copper not more than 0,40%, steels with chemical composition in accordance with GOST 4543 allowed the residual content of nickel not more than 0,40% and copper to 0,30%.

Special requirements

On the surface of pipes are not allowed spiral films and cracks. Small skins, dents, risks, rips, rolls and other defects of rolled origin are allowed, provided they do not take wall thickness beyond minimum allowable values. Local defects on the outer surface, which are outside the minimum allowable wall thickness, shall be cut out and subsequently welded by pipe manufacturer. Repair and removal of metal defects caused by the nature of the cast ingot and uncovered during machining are done by customer. Pipe ends are trimmed by fire or hot saw cutting. When cutting pipes by flame cutting, the allowance along the length of the pipe should be not less than 20 mm for each cut.
