Ukraine: Employees of the Zaporozhye Titanium-Magnesium Plant (ZTMC) began to test the newly converted line for the production of semi-finished products from titanium metal. In the industrial scale production of ingots of alloys, which will be the basis of the «winged metal», can begin here in the foreseeable future.

The initial stages of the implementation of management plans for the Zaporozhye titanium and magnesium plant regarding the launch of the production line of titanium alloys have a relatively low budget. They included the improvement of the existing melting equipment in which the power plant to be integrated computerized control system manufacturing process, re-equipped electron-beam installation, additional elements are built tooling for production automation. In the future, the owners of the Zaporozhye Titanium-Magnesium Plant (since last December it «Group DF» Dmitry Firtash, the owner of the enterprise through a Cypriot subsidiary «Tolexis Trading Ltd») plans to invest in the development ZTMC much more significant amount. According to previously published data, the mill owners include it in the list of assets to equip them (in the framework of the «resuscitation» program titanium industry in Ukraine) expect to invest over the next 5 years, about USD 2.5 billion.
