Analysts of the Russian market of special steels summed up the industry for the past nine months. According to their conclusions, for the period from January to September of this year, 165.7 thousand. Tons of stainless metal was imported into the country, which is 7.4% less than the results of the same period in 2011, the year.

Decreased import of foreign stainless steel in Russia and against the September figures by August data: in the past month, the volume of imports of stainless steel decreased by 2.9% — to 18.8 thousand tons. In particular, the seamless pipe in September, was imported into the territory of the state by 28.5% less than last month, stainless steel wire — by 57.6%, while imports of long products and electric-welded pipes from corrosion resistant metal decreased by 23, 7% and 21.3% respectively.

It is noteworthy that during the reporting period, the volume of primary billet imports of stainless formulations significantly increased: in September it imported into the country is 8 times more than in August. for flat-rolled indicators also rose, although not as significantly — by 5.8%. And although the share of stainless steel sheet in the total volume of foreign deliveries was 76.5%, import growth rates for these products was not sufficient to change the negative dynamics throughout the sector to positive.
