Stainless steel giants can combine assets

German group ThyssenKrupp and the Finnish company Outokumpu can combine assets for the production of stainless steel. For information about the negotiations between the assessment of prospects for such a scenario was confirmed by representatives of the Finnish companies of the Group. In the Outokumpu noted that the probability of such transaction is not guaranteed.

The German side alleged the union — ThyssenKrupp AG — one of the world's largest producers of high-alloy steel. The organization has a wide network of representative offices and subsidiaries in more than 80 countries, and the company's staff exceeds 177 thousand. Man. In addition to stainless steel, the company produces and sells lifting equipment, parts and components for motor vehicles and special equipment, welding machines, structural elements, mining equipment, rental of various (including special steels), varieties of metal and the release of other products.

In Outokumpu employs about 8,000 people, and its representative network covering over 30 countries. In addition to stainless steel assets in the portfolio companies are mining companies, research centers, manufacturing facilities for the production of copper and brass.

Analysts believe that the association of companies Outokumpu and ThyssenKrupp for the production of stainless steel (unless, of course, it will take place), will give the sector a superstrong player, capable of exerting an important influence on the market, enhancing the already significant position of the Finnish and German concerns.
