According to the London Metal Exchange nickel prices this week, not only stopped growing, but declined slightly — this has contributed to slackness in demand on world markets of stainless steel (recall that the upward trend of prices for nickel began in September). In recent weeks, the average price of nickel on the LME (in the terms of delivery for three months) remained at the level of about 23.475 $ / ton, while spot prices for the metal amounted to about 23.406 $ / ton.
However, stainless steel manufacturers evince the belief that as long as that happened a slight decrease in nickel prices is not able to affect the stability of the stainless steel market, where prices remain stable.
