According to August 2010, the expert evaluation «Steels» Association, the volume of imports of basic products of stainless steel, compared with July, increased by 9.8% and amounted to 19,912 tons.

The increase in the types of products were as follows: flat-rolled + 7.4%, long products + 24.7%, + 10.8% wires, seamless pipes and 14.1% welded tubes + 23.1%.

Imports of primary billet — decreased by 75.6%.
The total volume of Russian imports of basic products of stainless steel for the period from January to August 2010 amounted to 121,439 tons. Compared with the same period in 2009, imports increased by 125.9% (2009 — 53 752 tons.). Compared with the same period in 2008, imports increased by 1.4% (2008 — 119,776 tons.).
