Allegheny Technologies has decided to launch a new titanium plant

Despite the difficult conditions in the global titanium market and uncertain prospects relative to its potential growth, an American corporation Allegheny Technologies decided to start producing titanium sponge at its new plant, located in Rowley (Utah).

According to Dan Greenfield (Dan Greenfield), Director of Investor Relations, originally planned to start production in late 2008, however, broke the world economic crisis has forced to postpone it indefinitely. «2009 was a failure, but we hope that 2010 will be much better," — he said.

The company has hired in the third quarter of 2009, most of the employees of the new company, and held their training during October-December.

The main consumers of titanium are aviation and defense industry, as it is used in medicine and engineering.
