Features of boiler steel
The main difference is considered to be the ability of boiler steels to withstand the level of their strength properties at operating temperatures not less than 3500 C (for non-alloyed steels) and up to 550...600 C - for alloyed steels. This is also facilitated by properly selected heat treatment mode. More often this is normalization for Brinell hardness not less than 160...180 NV and impact strength not less than 450...500 kJ/m2.
