ASTM B740 covers strip supplied in specified copper-nickel-tin alloy designations and delivery conditions. A quotation must identify the exact UNS number and current specification revision because the standard title does not establish one universal chemistry or temper. Dimensional, mechanical, heat-treatment and testing requirements must be taken from the purchase specification.

Product forms and sourcing

Requirements can be reviewed for strip in coils or cut lengths, subject to alloy, temper, thickness, width and quantity. State edge condition, coil inside and outside diameter, maximum coil weight, flatness, surface finish, protective packaging and whether samples or a small qualification quantity are required before production supply.
