Astm B740 regulates the production of spin-hardened copper-nickel-tin alloys (spin-hardened Cu15Ni8Sn). Wrought copper-nickel-tin alloy UNS.No.C72900. Casting copper-nickel-tin alloy UNS.No.C96900. These alloys are similar in mechanical properties to copper-beryllium alloys, but do not contain beryllium. Spinodal decomposition results in high strength and hardness values and, in addition, exceptional resistance to corrosion in acidic environments and excellent anti-friction properties,

Quality

According to Astm B740, the surface of the strips must be clean, free of dirt, and smooth, without films, cracks, bubbles, scale, cavities, dents, scratches. On the surface of the strips are allowed small risks, dents, not exceeding the limit of thickness deviation.

Manufacture of heavily loaded parts in harsh and acidic environments, e.g. different types of bushings, guides, bearings
