Advantages
ER 347 is made from heat-resistant high-alloy steel, resistant to corrosion and other aggressive environmental factors, has high strength values. Alloying with Mo, Si eliminates microcrystalline corrosion and gives high quality welds.
Application of
Hardfacing of difficult-to-weld steels is an essential part of any metallurgical process used to join various steel structures. This wire is used for semi-automatic and argon-arc welding of austenitic-manganese steels with high tensile strength, high-carbon and dissimilar steels working at up to 300 °C. It is used for welding semi-automatic single-block welders with a separate wire feeder and 2-block. It is used for welding of containers, pipelines in the chemical, petroleum, food, mechanical engineering, when the use of carbon-metal electrodes, which leads to a significant reduction in the quality of the weld, is excluded.
Classification
There are 3 types of welding wire. 1) Activated wire (it contains metal and up to 5% of powder additives), 2) solid wire — for welding with semi-automatic and automatic machines, 3) flux-cored wire — from refractory metals for non-fused electrodes. Materials for welding are divided by the method of insulation, modification and a number of other qualities, such as physical characteristics. According to plasticity, the wire is divided into the 1st and 2nd class. Depending on the method of processing — on light and oxidized. The latter is less common. If the wire is damaged, it is not recommended — this can reduce the quality of the weld.
