Composition

Steel wire of 20X23H18 grade (AISI 310s) is made of austenitic class alloy, resistant to soil and atmospheric moisture, aggressive industrial gases. According to GOST 5632-72 the main alloying element is chromium in the amount of 22-25%. Corrosion resistance increases with the increase of its share. 17% Cr makes the steel resistant in the aggressive oxidizing environments. 12-15% Ni in the composition gives the necessary ductility and increases heat and corrosion resistance. In addition, the alloy is alloyed with 2% Mn, 1% Si, 0.2% C, thousandths of a percent of phosphorus and sulfur.
