Tu 48-19-73-86. Molybdenum metal for metallurgical purposes. Technical conditions.

Specifications Tu 48-19-73-86

Metal molybdenum in the form of stacks, plates, rods and pellets must comply with the requirements of these specifications.

1.2.1 Grades and dimensions of stub.

Grade Field of application The side of section, mm Deviations Length, mm Deviation
MSH-V Rolled product manufacturing 15 ±2 500 ±100
MSH-1 same 15 ±2 400 ±100
MSH-2 Steel alloying 15 ±2 400 -

1.2.2 Plates, bars and pellets are supplied with a chemical composition corresponding to grade MSH-2. Dimensions are not specified.

1.3 Chemical composition of molybdenum metal.

Component name MSH-B MSH-1 MSH-2
Mass fraction of molybdenum, %, min 99,62 99,55 99,80
Mass fraction of determinable impurities, %, max.

Notes:
  1. Allowed increase in the content of the mass fraction of calcium or magnesium, provided preservation of their sum not more than 0.005% in grades MSH-1 and MSH-2, and not more than 0,004% in grade MSH-B.
  2. Allowed to increase the content of the mass fraction of iron or aluminum, provided preservation of their sum: not more than 0.018% in grades BS-1, BS-2, and not more than 0,012% in grade BS-B.
  3. It is allowed up to 75% of molybdenum metal of MSH-2 grade without stipulating oxygen mass fraction.
  4. The mass fraction of molybdenum is determined by the difference of 100% and the sum of the mass fraction of 8% of the determined impurities, without taking into account the mass fraction of sodium.
1.4 The surface of the bars MSH-V and MSH-1 must be silver-matte. On the surface there should be no oxide film, spots of contamination, melt and cracks larger than 1 mm.
1.4.1 The presence of defects on the surface of molybdenum metal MSH-2 (delamination, surface cracks and melting, traces of oxidation and discoloration from straw-yellow to blue) is not a rejecting feature.
1.5 Stacks must be welded.
1.5.1 Failure to weld molybdenum metal MSH-2 is not a rejection feature.
1.6 Non-rectilinearity bars MSh-B and MSh-1 should not exceed 2 mm on the length of the bar.
Delivery of racks with bluntness up to 3 mm in an amount of up to 30% of the batch weight is allowed.
1.7 The density of extrusions of МШ-В and МШ-1 grades should be no less than 9,3 g/cm3. МШ-2 shtubki

with a density below 9.3 g/cm3 are allowed.
