1.1 Molybdenum strips shall comply with the requirements of these specifications.

1.4 The edges of the strips shall be trimmed. Tears on the edges are not allowed.
1.5 The surface shall be degreased. By agreement with the consumer on the surface of the strips are allowed traces of technological lubrication. Laminations and oxides are not allowed on the surface.
Marks of rejection shall not be:
  • roll marks, indentation shells, scraping marks, which do not lead strips beyond the allowable thickness deviations, not more than 5 pieces of each defect on the controlled length: 300, 200, 150 and 100 mm respectively for thickness intervals specified in Table 1;
  • mechanical damages in the form of scratches, which do not take the strip beyond the allowable thickness deviations;
  • on strips of (0,10-0,30) mm thickness - general waviness which disappears when rolled up on a roll of (50-60) mm diameter.
1.6 Roughness parameter Ra according to GOST 2789-73 of the surface of cold rolled strips with thickness (0,1-0,5) mm should not be more than 1,25 micron.
1.7 Cold-rolled strips with thickness (0,1-0,5) mm must withstand bending to the parallelism of the sides around the mandrel with the radius specified below. There must not be any tears in the bends.

1.11. By agreement between the manufacturer and the consumer company molybdenum strips are made with the following flatness tolerances: deviation from flatness along the rolling direction (deflection) shall be not more than 10% of the measured length of the strips; deviation from flatness across the rolling direction (boxiness) shall be not more than 5% of the measured width.
