1.2 The grades
Rings and wires are made from powder billets of molybdenum grade MF and vacuum-melted ingots of MFVP grade, obtained by melting powder billets of MF molybdenum grade.
1.2.1 Depending on how the initial billet is obtained:
- MF grade strips are made from sintered molybdenum billets corresponding to MF grade (pure olibdenum without additives);
- PM PM HP grade strips are made from vacuum-melted ingots produced by melting sintered molybdenum billets of PM grade with the use of carbon as a deoxidant).
- cold-rolled strips with thickness from 0.1 to 0.5 mm, rolled in two mutually perpendicular directions (P2);
- hot-rolled 0.6 to 6.0 mm strips, rolled in one direction.
1.3 The dimensions of strips and allowable deviations shall meet the following requirements.

The surface shall be free of delaminations, cavities, oxides, mechanical damages. Minor local defects not exceeding the thickness tolerances are allowed: dents, impressions of rolls, scratches, roughness, traces of brushing. Surface roughness parameter of cold rolled strips according to
1.7 It is allowed to have waviness on strips not thicker than 0,2 mm, which disappears when rolled up in a cylinder with a diameter of (50-60) mm. 1.8. Molybdenum strip not thicker than 0.5 mm is rolled
In two directions. The direction of rolling is changed by 90° after a total deformation of at least 80% from the beginning of processing. 1.9. In the cold state, strips with thickness up to 0.5 mm must withstand bending to the parallelism of the sides around the mandrel with a radius:
- for strips not thicker than 0.2 mm - 0.2 mm;
- for strips of thickness from 0,25 to 0,3 mm - 0,5 mm;
- for strips with thickness from 0,35 to 0,5 mm - 1,0 mm.
