Technical feature

The invention relates to powder metallurgy. It can be used in production of ignition devices, as gas absorbers in vacuum apparatus and in gas purification plants. An oxide of a basic element selected from Ti, Zr and Hf is mixed with an alloying metal powder selected from Ni, Cu, Ta, W, Re, Os or Ir and a reducing agent powder. The resulting mixture is heated in a furnace in an argon atmosphere until the reduction reaction begins. The resulting product is leached, washed and dried. A powder with reproducible combustion time, specific surface area, and particle size distribution is obtained.
