Cutting and drilling aluminum

Are you interested in cutting and drilling aluminum? The supplier Evek GmbH offers a wide range of aluminum at an affordable price. We provide delivery of products anywhere in the continent. The price is optimal.

Aluminum cutting

Almost all aluminum alloys, with the exception of AL and AK type alloys, lend themselves well to all varieties of shear cutting on forging equipment. They are used

  • Slant blade crank shears - for cutting aluminum sheets or wide strips;
  • Disc shears - for cutting aluminum coils into strips;
  • Combined shears - for cutting of not wide strips and sheets, as well as profile rolled metal products - angles, channels, rods with different cross-sections;
  • Section shears - for cutting aluminum circles, hexahedrons or squares (specialized knives of closed or half-closed type are required);
  • Alligator shears - used for primary cutting of aluminum scrap.

Technological gaps

The technological gaps when cutting aluminum are chosen taking into account the plastic properties of the material - the lower the yield stress, the lower should be the gaps between the movable and fixed shear blades. Supplier Evek GmbH offers to buy aluminum of domestic and foreign production at an affordable price in a wide range. We provide delivery of products anywhere in the continent. The price is optimum.

Cutting of aluminum pipes

Can be made by shear method, using special stamps on mechanical presses. However, because of the complexity of the design of such equipment is more common technology of cutting pipes on friction saws, mechanical hacksaws, band saws or on milling and cutting equipment. It should be taken into account that all mechanical cutting technology is characterized by an increased consumption of metal in the technological chips.

Drilling

Drilling modes are determined by the following features of aluminum:

  • High plasticity, which manifests itself in the appearance of a wide drain chip. This forces you to periodically turn off the machine, and clean the hole cavity of chips;
  • Increased friction between the drill bit material and aluminum alloy, due to which drills made of high-speed steel such as P9 are used primarily;
  • The presence of burrs on the opposite side of the aluminum workpiece, which worsens the quality of the resulting hole.

To avoid burrs, the drills are sharpened so that the cutting is performed by the edge/periphery of the drill. The machinability of the original aluminum workpieces is improved if they are subjected to artificial or natural aging before drilling.

Punching with punches

When it is necessary to make holes in the metal up to 4...6 mm thick punching with punches on the press equipment has a definite advantage over machine drilling.
