Relevance of brazing alloys
Brazing with hard solder which contains mainly copper is used in tool making - for joining to the steel base of carbide plates of cutting machining tools or cut-off blades of cold-forming machines. In these cases, the melting temperature of the solder must be approximately the same as the hardening temperature of the steel product. The tool is usually heated in a salt bath. If they are not available, brazing with ferroalloys is used. The main brands of refractory solders are self-fluxing solders GFK or 6MM, which are supplied in the form of plates, chips or powder.
