Aluminum production methods

Production

Aluminum ranks first among metals in the lithosphere (over 8%). Of the 250 minerals containing the metal, 40% are aluminosilicates. The process of producing the metal is very labor-intensive and involves several steps. One of the main methods of producing aluminum is electrolysis, by which ingots of the primary metal are obtained. These are then used either as a finished product, or as material for the production of aluminium alloys with specific characteristics.

Alloying

The addition of alloying components is used to produce aluminum alloys with given properties. Among the most common are:

-silicon;
-Magnesium;
-Copper.
Alloyed aluminum alloys are the basis for the production of reliable parts with given properties.

Heat treatment

Three basic types of heat treatment are used for this metal:
- Annealing;
-Hardening;
Annealing; -Hardening.
The first is aimed at increasing ductility and also has several subtypes (depending on the nonequilibrium state of the alloy). The main purpose of these procedures - to improve the strength characteristics of the finished products.

Buy, price

Evek GmbH sells semi-finished products made of aluminum and its alloys at an optimal price. It is formed taking into account the rates on the London Non-Ferrous Metals Exchange and depends on the technological features of production without the inclusion of additional costs. All batches of products have the certificate of quality for compliance with the requirements of standards and specifications of operation. The certificate notes the manufacturing plant, drawing number and part name, alloy grade, melting number, mechanical properties of the parts, chemical composition and the results of additional tests.
