Invar® welding

Technical Characteristics

This type of precision alloy 36H invar contains iron (63-64.5%) and nickel (35-37%). The alloy is alloyed with silicon, copper, manganese, aluminum, molybdenum and vanadium. It is smelted by vacuum induction smelting. Melting point 1450 °C. TKLRx1000000 in the temperature range from minus 60°C to +100°C ≤1.5 [1/°C]

Welding

Iron-nickel alloys weld satisfactorily. Argon arc welding is commonly used. An iron-nickel wire of similar composition is used as filler material. Welding is carried out without preheating and final heat treatment. Welded joints are as strong as the base material.

Application

Manufacture of parts of devices requiring dimensional stability within the range of climatic temperatures.
