Principle of operation

Heating generates a potential difference v between conductors of different materials. Thermocouples with a high thermocouple electromotive force are used for more accurate readings when heating is negligible. They have positive electrodes: copper, chromel or iron, and negative - alumel or constantan. In terms of thermoelectromotive force, the first place is occupied by a copel-chromel thermocouple (TCK), which is used at temperatures up to 800 °C. Compensation wires carry out potential transfer to the recording sensor. For such wires is used cheaper wire: constantan, chromel of K or KM grade, copel, etc. Copel and constantan are used in measuring electrical devices to produce resistance standards.

Testing
